Dan Green, Reverie and Jackson, Image 2

Hello once again everyone! ^_^

Moments prior, I had just finished posting my first rendering of the acclaimed voice actor Dan Green, and his two beautiful children, Reverie and Jackson as seen here:




As I mentioned in the description of the work above, these two images will be gifts that I hope to present to Dan Green, when I attend the Dan Green Benefit 2012, in Providence Rhode Island this very weekend. For more information in regards to this event, please visit the following link:

I suppose there isn't too much more I can say that I haven't already.... I have absolutely *adored* Dan Green's work for over a decade now, from his work on Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh (in particular ), Descendants of Darkness, Samurai Deeper Kyo, and a number of other titles! Whether it was the unique texture of Dan's voice that initially appealed to me, or his extraordinary dedication to his craft, I found his voice-over work to be remarkably engaging; prompting me to follow him in those various roles that he had played throughout his career!

And yet... I was deeply saddened to hear about the tragedy that his family had suffered when his lovely wife Michal Lura Friedman passed away last fall when giving birth their long awaited son and daughter.... In honor of their family, I attempted to help raise awareness of what had happened, as seen in some of the images that I had posted then:





Amazingly, a *number* of people had attempted to assist their family by donating on the "Dan Green Guestbook:

Even the talented Little Kuriboh, of the Yu-Gi-Oh Abridged Series had sponsored an assortment of charity auctions for their sake, at the end of last year:

However, with the children's growing needs, further support is now being humbly requested, which is one of the primary objectives of this weekend's Dan Green Benefit 2012!

For those who are unable to attend, I ask that you please visit any of the sites above to perhaps offer a kind word or a small donation if at all possible! Thank you so much for your time and consideration!

Anyhow, returning to the image that I have posted here (as I had mentioned in my previous description) I had wanted to have something special to give to Dan Green when I attend the event this weekend... Given that I had already presented my Yu-Gi-Oh related works at the Yu-Gi-Oh World Championship Qualifier in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania last year, I felt that I needed to have SOMETHING new to bring along with me; though I was limited to having only a few short weeks in order to prepare... And so, I opted to draw him and his children, in both this image and the one that I had posted beforehand.

Though it may not be the most original concept (as I had fretted about in the description of that first image) I did work very hard on both drawings; trying to render them as closely as I could to the photographs that I had used as reference material.

Much like the first piece, I also used a number of pencils and shading stubs to complete this work, though I believe that this one may have a bit more depth and contrast in comparison to the other.

In both images, however, I wanted to capture the likenesses of Dan's children in particular; so perhaps they can all look back at these images in remembrance and great fondness someday.... That is my hope anyhow.....

Well everyone! Wish me luck! I think that the Dan Green Benefit 2012 will be a lot of fun; full of wonderful memories for everyone involved!

Oh! In addition to Dan, and the various other voice actors who will make an appearance, I also hope to meet the legendary who I have followed here on Deviantart now for a number of years! Even if I am only able to attend the benefit for a day, I think it'll be a day that I'll never forget! Thanks again for looking everyone! Until next time then!
