20,000+: Egyptian Crossover

Hello everyone!

How are you? Are you doing well? I sure hope that you are! It's been a long time since I've been around hasn't it? <Sigh>.... It seems that these days that's starting to be the norm for me -_- .... While I'm on the subject, I'm VERY VERY far behind on messages and deviations, but I'll try to get to them as soon as I can ok? Hang in there everyone! ><

But anyways, there was one thing that I wanted to do for all of you at least. I wanted to FINALLY post this image; a painting that I've been working on for a little while now, as a gift to EVERYONE who's stopped by my page and contributed to my 20,000+ hits! Wow, that's a lot of hits everyone! Once again I thank you ALL! Your encouragement and support truly has meant so much to me; more than I can say! I only wish that I could find the right words, especially since I've been feeling a bit insecure about my work in recent months.... Anyhow, I know that I've said all of this before, but it's always so wonderful to come to deviantart and see all of the kind and caring things that everyone has said about me and my work! ^_^ Even if I can't express it properly through words, I hope that it's conveyed through the image at least!

So let's see what we have here shall we? Well, like the title indicates, though this image mainly depicts Yami Yugi (Pharaoh Atemu/Atem) and the women in his court (Isis, and Mana for instance) I also included my own version of Teana again (as seen in some of the previous images that I have painted) and two crossover chracters from other anime/manga series; Sailor Moon and Red River.

It has become a yearly tradition it seems that I paint an image of Sailor Moon/Usagi/Serenity with Yami Yugi/Atemu together, given that they are my two most favorite titles in all of anime and manga. But thanks to a brief suggestion from regarding Yuri, the heroine of the manga Red River, I instead decided on a more detailed "crossover" piece. An image with several characters instead of only two!

I also decided to use my "Egyptian" Sailor Moon, the design that I developed in last year's image as seen here:




The image of Yuri from Red River (in terms of design) is a bit similar to my previous work of her too:



But given that she wears various versions of the same type of outfit, I decided to go with another form of it instead.

As for Isis and Mana, I will say that this is my first attempt at depicting Isis, for starters. It was a bit difficult painting her headdress given how much smaller she is (standing in the background and what not) but it was a nice challenge for me to depict her given that I have wanted to for some time now. This is my second attempt at Mana. I wanted her to have a playful look to her even though she's "posing" as seen in her posture and facial expression.

And of course there is my Yami and Teana. Much like my other versions of Yami/Atemu, I often like to make him look a bit older and taller given my tastes and such. I hope that he still looks very much like his character of course but with a more mature physical appearance. Similarly, as I have said about my Teana, though she is an Egyptian "Anzu/Tea" she also ISN'T Tea or Anzu given that I have created my own background and story for her character. In my mind she is also a bit older than Anzu/Tea and I tried to depict that as well. She is also wearing the "queen/royal" attire that I created for her in:




As for the background I took a few liberties with it given that Yami had so many different throne rooms as seen in the anime and manga. I simply took various elements that I liked in each and combined them together to create the one that I painted.

As always the piece was hand painted (painstakingly >< ) using opague water color. Thank you again everyone! and
