I made a few revisions to this sketch as suggested by some good friends! ^_^ 1/10/12

Hello everyone,

Happy New Year to all of you! I hope that you're all doing well! Well, it's a little too late for Christmas, but as I mentioned in my most recent journal entry, I decided to keep up with the holiday tradition of having a Yami and Teana holiday piece, which seems to be getting increasingly provocative as time passes.

You may be familiar with my previous pieces from years passed, as seen here:




In short, it appears as if my Teana had instigated a little game with her beloved Pharaoh, which started in the first image; her surprising him wearing a sexy santa dress! The following year, though she attempted to do so again, Yami aka Atemu turned the tables on her, with that sexy elf costume that he wore instead!

Not to be out done, this time, Teana is surprising Yami yet again with a makeshift dress made of wrapping paper! Wanting to REALLY take him by surprise, I wanted it to appear as if she'd just awakened him, which explains why I've depicted Yami with his hair down in this image.

Though many could argue that Yami's hair is just naturally spiked, as it normally appears, I've had fun drawing and painting him in the past with his hair down, though it's usually due to it being wet; making his locks droop as a result:



This time however, I simply reasoned, for the sake of this image, that Teana had stirred him from his sleep and he had yet to put any product in his hair to arrange it in its recognizable style! That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Of course Teana is eyeing her love quite seductively, but though I've depicted Yami being surprised by her in the first image, I wanted this year's piece to be similar in that regard but slightly different; yet another reason why I felt it fitting to change his hair, which is also somewhat ruffled because he had been resting. As for his expression, I tried to be subtle in the sense that his eyes are even wider than in the first image, but given his personality, and NOT wanting to betray his feelings TOO much, I reasoned that he would try to swallow his shock.

It is for this reason that I depicted him with his mouth closed, as if he had gulped down those emotions, trying desperately to regain his composure as quickly as possible! Heh, he may find the need to retaliate against Teana next year though! I suppose only time will tell!

Though I've yet to decide on a background for this piece, I do hope to make it somewhat decorative, much like the other two pieces were. I also know that there was no Christmas in Ancient Egypt, so I wanted the piece to look less like a scene, which is the reason why other than the blankets, which again help to illustrate that Yami had been sleeping, I choose not to include any other background elements at all. I also know that no pillows were used in Ancient Egypt, but since there was a scene in the Egypt Arc of the anime that showed Yami having green sheets and pillows in his room, I opted to simply use what I saw.

Also, as a final detail on Teana, I choose to depict her wearing her crown, which she may or may not officially wear in my fanfiction, "Transcending Memories: A Bond Unsealed:

Given that last year Yami had chosen to keep his on, even while wearing the elf costume, I figured Teana would do the same, though while also trying to out do him, with this even sexier form of "attire."

Anyways, I hope to finish this work at least relatively soon given how late it already is. But even so, I like to keep up with tradition, so I wanted to follow through with this, despite the timing.

In turn, I also plan to continue with my other yearly work of uniting Yami Yugi and Sailor Moon in a crossover piece as I have done many years prior. So be on the look out for that one too everyone!
