YamiXTeana Christmas Sketch

Happy Holidays! Well I was a little worried about finishing this piece before Christmas, so just in case I don't, I thought I'd post the sketch that I was working on for the time being. I got inspired and came up with this fun little piece! ^_^ In a nutshell, I have my Teana surprising Yami (aka Atemu/Atem) with a little holiday cheer of her own.....

The idea literally just came to me one day and I immediately had to draw it! I always figured that when Teana was comfortable with her relationship with Yami, that she might be playful with him or even direct, as seen here! For those who are unaware, within my fanfiction above, Teana is the past life incarnation of Tea/Azu. And yet, despite beginning this way, to me she has evolved into her own character with her own background, personality and back story. In a manner of speaking, it's difficult for me to see her as simply the previous life of Anzu/Tea but perhaps that's just my devotion to my creation. To give credit where credit is due, however, I did take the name "Teana" from the game "Yu-Gi-Oh: Forbidden Memories," for the Playstation. However, I recreated and redesigned the character completely; as seen from my previous works on Devianart.

Getting back to the drawing, it seemed like fun to try and come up with it and I also thought it would be a nice challenge to draw a *slightly* surprised Yami as well. I figured he wouldn't have a VERY noticeable reaction (or rather one that he would so blantantly show) but given how bold Teana is being in my image, I figured even *he* wouldn't be able to mask his emotions/expression completely! It was definitely an enjoyable process; one of those drawings that in its way drew itself because of the intensity of the inspiration and I'm hoping that the finished painting will come out well too. I'll most likely add some holiday elements like ribbons, holly and perhaps some snow flakes but for the most part I wanted the focus to be on these two. ^_^ Please be on the look out when the work is finished!

This is the piece that I hope to dedicate to those who visit my deviantart art site and gallery! I've reached 70,000 because of all of you and this will be my gift for that milestone! ^_^ I'll write more about that later, but again, in case I don't finish this in the next week or so, let me say thank you again and Happy Holidays to you all!
