After completing my image of Alex and Luna from the video game: Lunar: Silver Star/Story; [link]
I then decided to paint one more illustration, only this time based upon the sequel of the video game above, Lunar 2: Eternal Blue. Much like the original, this game also holds great sentimental value for me, perhaps even more so being that my friend Danielle
and I enjoyed this adventure together from the very first day it was released on Sega CD 10 years ago. ^_^ I also believed that as wonderful as the original game was, this game's story and character interaction was much deeper and more complex; though of course that is only my opinion on the matter.
Anyhow, I especially loved the romance between the characters that I have depicted here, Lucia and Hiro. Though all of the characters from the game were full of life and energy, I was compelled by their individual love story from beginning to end, more so than any other. In truth, I had always wanted to draw and paint the two of them together and finally I felt inspired to do so!
As far as the painting itself, however, once again the image is rather simple in terms of concept. I only wished to depict these two characters in a romantic and relaxed embrace while lying together on a grassy field. For those familar with the game, perhaps the two of them are resting together on a newly restored Blue Star, which may now be just as beautiful as the world of Lunar.
As always the image is painted with the use of opaque water color.
