Kevin Conroy: The One and ONLY Batman

Hello everyone!

How are you? Are you doing well? I sure hope that you are! Well! It certainly has been quite a while since I've posted a new deviation!  Rather, a deviation related to visual art.   Lately, as I continue to recover from having a surgical procedure, I've been working on more written works, instead of visual.  Namely, my beloved Yu-Gi-Oh fanfiction, "Transcending Memories: A Bond Unsealed, which I've FINALLY started to make some headway after many many years since I began it!  If any of you out there are fans of Yu-Gi-Oh, and you don't mind romance (with a mixture of drama and suspense too!)  check it out, and let me know what you think! I'm always interested in feedback!

Transcending Memories: A Bond Unsealed- Chapter 1
Author’s Note (April 2010):  Wow….  It’s hard to believe that I started this fan-fiction almost 6 years ago.  So much time has passed, and yet at the same time it feels as if it were only yesterday since I created this work.  Even though I put it away for a while, as I focused on other things in my life, my love for this story never faltered.  And I’m quite sure that it will always be special to me, no matter what... 
     In recent months, I found myself rediscovering the intensity of the love that I felt for the Yu-Gi-Oh anime and manga series, and as a result I was compelled to revisit this fan-fiction, rework it, and maybe even attempt to complete it this time around!  It’ll be a daunting task, especially given the extent of what I would like to rewrite before I continue onward, and because despite everything that I had written previously, I had barely even b

Anyways, aside from that, I have started to very slowly integrate myself back into the visual art world as well!  This piece was actually done rather quickly, when I heard that my second favorite voice actor of ALL time, the one and ONLY Kevin Conroy, will be attending Wizard World, near my home, in Philadelphia!

Oh my goodness!  When I found out about this, I was estatic! I've been a fan of Mr. Conroy, since 1992 when the Batman: Animated Series, premeired on Fox Network!  I guess in saying that, it shows just how old I am, but what the heck! I'm certainly a fan of his and proud of it!  The man is amazing!  And I've followed almost ALL of his titles in the voice acting world, from Batman: The Animated Series, to Batman Beyond, to Justice League, his continous string of DC animated movies, and even some cameos on other Batman related shows.  I know he's also voiced the more recent string of Batman Arkham Asylum related video games too, but given I'm not much of a gamer these days, I'm not as familiar with these works myself.... I HAVE seen some footage on youtube however, and of course his performance as Batman is just as strong as ever!

In my mind, no one will EVER touch his perfect pitch for the character of Batman.  The man has it all!  He can be dramatic, romantic, threatening, even funny at times!  All with such subtle inflections in his incredible vocal range!  I could go on and on and sing his praises but my hope against hope is to finally MEET the man himself in a few weeks at the convention above!  That certainly WOULD be a dream come true!  I once told a friend, that if I could meet Dan Green, Keith David and Kevin Conroy, that I could die happy!   Well, I've met two out of three!  With hopefully the third approaching!  I just hope it happens!  Wish me luck everyone!!

Getting back to the above image, I suppose it's pretty self explanatory.  I wanted to have SOMETHING to give Mr. Conroy, when I meet him so I decided to do a portrait piece, with the iconic logo of the Batman: Animated Series, from the 1990s.  I actually surprised myself by finishing it so quickly, but given how excited I am, I guess I used that energy within the piece!  I hope he likes it, and I hope all of you like it too! ^_^

Thanks for looking everyone and be on the look out for more written AND artistic works very soon!  The quicker I heal, the sooner I HOPE to get back on the ball with ALL things art related!
