Inuyasha and Tetsusaiga

Wow, it's been a long time since I've painted a piece based on the anime Inuyasha. And being that I recently posted those old images that I did in pencil years ago, I was inspired to try an entirely new piece. Here I have painted a close up image of Inuyasha himself with his blade Tetsusaiga. Being that the series mainly takes place in feudal Japan, I was compelled to add a design in the background similar to those found in Japanese prints. In truth, I wanted the entire image to have the "feel" of a Japanese print. The piece in its entirety, including the background was hand painted using opaque water color, much like the majority of all of my work on deviantart.
