Hello everyone,

How are you? Are you doing well? I sure hope that you are! :) It's been a little while, hasn't it? Especially in regards to new deviations... ^^; However, in recent weeks (and even as I write this message) I have been busy preparing for my trip up to Providence, Rhode Island tomorrow night, for the sake of the Dan Green Benefit 2012; which I had mentioned in my most recent journal entry. For more information on this event, please visit the link below:

As I also mentioned in my journal, I had wanted to present Dan Green with a gift of some sort, which I had to reflect upon, considering that I had already given him my *entire* collection of Yu-Gi-Oh related works last year, when I met him at the Yu-Gi-Oh World Championship Qualifier in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania:

Great Weekend! Dan Green! And Otakon! XDHello everyone! How are you? Are you doing well? I sure hope that you are! :) Gosh! It seems like it's been forever since I've written a new journal entry around here, hasn't it?  But I thought after the amazing events of this weekend, that now would be an appropriate time to do so! :XD:

Goodness.... Where do I begin? I guess I can start with one of the most exciting events to happen to me as of late (or arguably ever!), the fact that I got to meet the one and only Dan Green, the English voice actor who played both Yugi and Yami Yugi in the Yu-Gi-Oh anime series! :wow:  Dan has played a number of other roles too, of course; ones that

Taking into account that I had only come to know about this event in Rhode Island a few weeks ago, I knew that I wouldn't have had the time to paint an elaborate painting (which I would have much preferred... :( ) so instead, I opted to depict a few realistic pencil drawings of Dan Green and his children, Jackson and Reverie; which I hope to present to him in person, this Saturday, when I do attend the benefit.

In all honesty, I'm a bit uncertain of what Dan will think of these works.... :worry: Though I did indeed draw them by hand, (using various pencils and shading stubs) I was only able to find a handful of images of him and his two children online to use as reference. And truth be told, using a photograph as a guide is more or less the extent of my ability, in regards to rendering realistically anyhow.... So I do worry about the level of creativity (or lack thereof) of these particular works, in terms of being acceptable gifts to give him.... :worry: Furthermore, since these images were taken shortly after Dan's tragic loss, I was also concerned about the sensitivity of the issue....

However, since the event is in part FOR Dan and the sake of his family, I wanted to believe that the drawings would be received well, and that perhaps they could be a seen as a time capsule of sorts; something to look back on (other than the photograph itself anyhow...) to remind him when his son and daughter were as tiny as they appear in these images! :blushes:

At the very least, I sincerely hoped that the time, the effort, and the *tremendous* admiration that I feel for Dan could somehow be seen in these works; even if they are rather unoriginal in terms of concept.... :worry: Though I will be quite pleased and even honored to meet ALL of the wonderful talents that have lent their voices to Yu-Gi-Oh, it is still for Dan Green, more than any other, that I will be attending this benefit. For all that his work has meant to me over the years (as I have voiced repeatedly ) for the extraordinary kindness that he showed me at last year's event, and for the sake of his two beautiful children, I wanted to do all that I could... I only wish that I could have done or even still do more, whether its in terms of gift giving, or even financial contributions. It is my hope that at least those feelings will be conveyed to him; even in some small measure....

Anyhow, I suppose that that leads me to this first image that I'm posting now. I discovered this photograph on both "The Snyder Twins" website, and the Facebook page of the same name.

Though the image sadly depicts the pain of Dan losing his beloved Michal, I do believe it is a lovely portrait of him and his two children. This was my first choice when it came to deciding on an image to render, and I tried to do so, to the best of my ability.

As I had mentioned previously, I drew the image utilizing a variety of pencils, and several shading stubs.

Please view the additional image that I have depicted for Dan Green, as seen here:

! Take good care now everyone! And thanks for looking! :thanks:
