Thank you so much!
Hello there everyone, ^_^
How are you? Are you doing well? I sure hope that you are!
Well, I thought that I'd take a moment to post my latest commission image; one that was requested by the wonderfully kind
She had messaged me not too long ago and had asked that I depict her original Yu-Gi-Oh characters Elly Clarkson, as well as her previous incarnation from Ancient Egypt, a woman known as Enity.
was kind enough to provide me with reference material for her two girls as seen here:
as well as many others in her Yu-Gi-Oh gallery, which can be viewed in this link: [link]
But the way that
described these characters to me is that Enity was originally the younger sister of Theif Bakura, 3,000 years ago, and like him, she could also be quite dangerous and cruel if the situation warranted it. Physically,
had mentioned that Enity was quite mature looking, appearing more as a grown woman, much like the canon Yu-Gi-Oh character Mai Kujaku aka Valentine. While applying my own unique touch on her design, I will admit looking at both Yami Bakura and Mai for inspiration. I suppose that is most prominent in Enity's face and hair. Though I specifically thought of Bakura's psychotic grin when I was initially inspired to begin this piece, hence the reason that Enity is beginning to form one as well!
Elly, the way that
described is much quieter and kinder; much like the contrast between Yami Bakura and Ryou Bakura. In fact, Elly is like a second cousin to Ryou, from what
told me, and she requested that I had similar features to Bakura, with a touch of Anzu mixed in, while still resembling Enity as well. She also mentioned a bond between the two personas, and that Enity could be rather posessive of Elly even, which is what she wished for me to portray in the image itself. I chose to render Enity and Elly in a sort of embrace, showcasing the hold that Enity has on Elly which again is comparable to Bakura and Yami Bakura. I attempted to portray Elly in a way that she appeared unwilling to break away because of their undeniable connection, yet still looking concerned; perhaps as she frets over what Enity will ultimately do in the end!
When designing my version of Elly,
had requested that I have her sporting ripped jeans, while also wearing a shirt from a manga called Cry, as seen here: [link]
Enity, on the other hand, is wearing clothing that
had designed for her, as seen in this image:
Given both the influences of real Yu-Gi-Oh characters, such as the two Bakuras and Mai, it was a challenge trying to depict the Yu-Gi-Oh style, while also trying to make the characters look unique, while simultaneously trying to add my own personal touches to the overall piece. And yet, I found that I quite enjoyed it!
I think this was certainly one of the more challenging and enjoyable commissions that I've rendered so far! I truly hope that you like it,
as I gave it my very best! Thank you for your interest in my work, and I thank all of you for looking as well!
As always, it means a lot to me!
Take care now and until next time then!
